Privacy Policy

We respect your privacy. This page explains what data Hiregator collects, how it is used across the platform and tenant portals, how long it is kept, and the rights you have over it.

1. Who we are

HireGator Technologies, India (“Hiregator”, “we”, “us”) operates the Hiregator platform at hiregator.in and the branded tenant portals hosted under it (for example, yourcompany.hiregator.in). Each tenant portal is controlled by the company that owns it; that company decides which roles to publish and which team members can see applicant data.

2. Data we collect

• Account data: name, work email, phone number and login credentials for admin, recruiter and platform users.
• Recruitment data: job postings, applications, resumes, cover letters, interview notes, assessments and placement records submitted through the portals.
• Contact and support data: messages you send us through contact forms, email or chat, including the content of your enquiry and how we responded.
• Technical data: device and browser information, IP address, approximate location, pages visited and actions taken, collected to keep the platform secure and to understand aggregate usage.
• Cookies: strictly necessary cookies for login sessions and security, plus optional analytics cookies where you have consented.

3. How we use your data

• To provide the service: hosting tenant portals, publishing jobs, receiving and routing applications, scheduling interviews and generating reports.
• To authenticate users, enforce role-based access and keep accounts secure.
• To communicate with you: transactional emails (login, application updates), support replies and, where you opted in, product news.
• To improve the platform: aggregated, de-identified analytics on feature usage and performance.
• To meet legal obligations: tax, accounting, fraud prevention and responding to lawful requests.

We do not sell your personal data. We never share applicant data with third parties except as instructed by the employer that owns the portal, or as required by law.

4. Who can see your data

• Tenant teams: admins and recruiters of the company whose portal you applied through can see the applications submitted to them.
• Service providers: hosting, email delivery and analytics vendors that process data only on our instructions and under contract.
• Legal: authorities when disclosure is required by applicable law or to protect rights, safety and security.

5. Data retention

Account data is kept while your workspace is active. Recruitment data is kept for as long as the employer needs it for hiring decisions and legal record-keeping, and is deleted or anonymised when the tenant deletes it or closes the workspace. Backups rotate on a rolling schedule. Support correspondence is typically retained for up to 3 years.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. Candidates can exercise these rights through the employer they applied to; account holders and visitors can write to us and we respond within one business day.

7. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you logged in and to remember security and preference choices. If analytics cookies are enabled on a portal, they are used only in aggregate and can be cleared at any time from your browser settings. Disabling strictly necessary cookies will prevent login from working.

8. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest on our hosting infrastructure. Access is restricted by role, passwords are stored hashed, and administrative access is logged. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong unique password and tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the platform evolves. Material changes will be announced on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of Hiregator after an update takes effect means you accept the revised policy.
